Temporary Kitchen Rental

Temporary Kitchen Rental
Keep serving while your kitchen is down — commercial temporary kitchens delivered and set up.

When a commercial kitchen goes down, the food still has to get out. A temporary kitchen rental from California Mobile Kitchens (CMK) puts a fully equipped, self-contained kitchen on your site so your team can keep cooking through a renovation, a repair, a closure, or an emergency. We deliver the trailer, set it up, and support you for the length of the rental, whether that is a few weeks or several months.

When a temporary kitchen makes sense

A temporary kitchen is the practical answer whenever your permanent kitchen is unavailable or not yet built:

  • Kitchen renovations and remodels — keep serving while contractors work in your existing kitchen.
  • Equipment failure, fire, flood, or other damage — get back to cooking quickly after an unexpected shutdown.
  • Health or safety closures — reopen service while repairs and inspections are completed.
  • New construction and expansions — feed crews and staff before the permanent kitchen is finished.
  • Seasonal surges and special projects — add cooking capacity without a permanent build-out.

Who rents temporary kitchens

Our commercial temporary kitchens serve organizations that cannot pause meal service:

  • Hospitals and healthcare facilities — patient meals, cafeterias, and staff dining must continue without interruption.
  • Schools, colleges, and universities — cafeteria service continues through summer renovations and emergency repairs.
  • Restaurants and caterers — keep your menu and your revenue going during a remodel or after damage.
  • Construction and industrial sites — feed crews on site with a kitchen that moves with the project.
  • Government, military, and emergency response — rapid deployment when communities need meals fast.

These are commercial and industrial rentals for businesses and institutions. Our trailers are built for professional food service operations, not for residential or backyard use.

What is included

Every temporary kitchen rental is a complete, working kitchen on wheels. Depending on the trailer you choose, your kitchen can include commercial ranges, ovens, griddles, fryers, convection ovens, tilt skillets, steam kettles, prep tables, sinks, and refrigeration. Trailers are built to meet or exceed state and county health department requirements. Add-ons are available on a quote basis, including a generator, ADA ramps and decking, a waste holding tank, and a grease trap.

Two kitchen trailer sizes cover most operations: the 20-foot mobile kitchen trailer, which serves 1 to 300 people per meal and rents for $6,000 per month, and the 32-foot mobile kitchen trailer, which serves up to 1,000 meals per service and rents for $8,000 per month. For extra prep space, see our prep kitchen trailers, and for washing capacity, our dishwashing trailers. When you need cold storage alongside the kitchen, add a refrigeration trailer rental.

How a rental works

  1. Tell us what you need. Request a quote or call (805) 459-1254 with your dates, location, and meal volume.
  2. Pick the right trailer. We match the trailer size and configuration to your menu and your site.
  3. Confirm the rental. Your rental is confirmed once your lease is signed, payment is satisfied, and your certificate of insurance (COI) is received.
  4. Delivery and setup. We deliver the trailer and set it up on your site. Your site needs 208–220V single-phase 50-amp power, a ¾-inch fresh water connection, a 1½-inch wastewater connection, and propane where required.
  5. Cook and serve. Your team cooks in a fully equipped kitchen while your permanent kitchen is repaired, renovated, or built.

We serve California and deliver nationwide, with 24-hour customer service. Tell us your timeline and your location, and we will put a plan together.
